Jason Cross

BIM manager and coordinator. The work is the model and the software around it — Revit, Navisworks, standards — plus the add-ins and AI tools I am building so the model can be queried instead of redrawn.

Skills

BIM management and the software that holds the model. AI and a custom Revit add-in are what I am building next, not a finished product line.

A coordination model — the thing Revit, Navisworks, and the add-in are for. Representative, not a client file.

BIM management

Standards, a model other people can trust, and a set that leaves the office on time.

BIM software

Revit is the authoring tool. Navisworks, Dynamo, and the rest sit around it.

AI & add-ins

Developing

In progress. The model should answer questions, and the repetitive clicks should be a command.

Custom Revit add-in, with an AI client on the other end

I am building a pyRevit add-in that exposes the open model through the Model Context Protocol. An AI client can check that Revit is up, read model info, list levels and families, export a view, place a family, and run Python inside the Revit session. Next to that, a custom Revit API add-in and the Dynamo graphs already used for annotation and coordination. This is active development, not a product I am selling yet.

Experience

Four jobs. The through-line is the model and the drawings that come out of it.

Senior BIM Coordinator

Own the federated model and the clash run. Shop drawings stay accurate, Dynamo and Python take the repetitive annotation, and prefabricated student-housing pods are placed into the architect’s model.

Developing

pyRevit + Model Context Protocol bridge to the open model. Status, views, families, place family, run Python. Active development, not a product for sale.

Coordination model

A coordinated building model with structure and building systems — the thing Revit, Navisworks, and the add-in are for.

Office BIM standards

Templates, model organization, and training so a Revit file stays usable after the author moves on.
